WHAT IS THE SENSOR MADE OF?

The sensor is made of cellulose-based composite layers.

All information can be accessed via mobile phone, tablet, or PC.

 

IS IT POSSIBLE TO INTEGRATE THE DATA IN EXISTING HOME CONTROL APPLICATIONS?

Yes, this is an issue we are addressing in our ongoing advancements.

 

FUNCTION:

IS THE SENSOR UNDER ELECTRIC LOAD?

When the sensor performs the readings, it is briefly exposed to low voltage. This type of voltage may be compared to the battery of a wrist watch.

 

WHAT ELSE APART FROM THE SENSOR NEEDS TO BE INSTALLED?

The sensors are cable-connected to a processing unit (PU), which is installed at an appropriate spot inside the building.

ENVIRONMENT:

DOES THE SENSOR EMIT RADIATION?

No, this sensor is a non-radiation sensor that transmits data via WLAN.

DOES THE SENSOR GET DAMAGED WHEN EXPOSED TO WATER?

No, the sensor performs seamlessly in humid as well as dry environments.

IS THE SENSOR PRONE TO MOULDING?

No. The sensor has undergone long-term testing at TU Chemnitz, confirming its durability and resistance.

IF AN INSTALLED SENSOR GETS DAMAGED, CAN IT BE REPAIRED?

Yes, damaged components can be replaced.

 

SAFETY/SECURITY:

IS THERE A RISK OF FIRE, SHORT Circuit, OR LIGHTNING?

The sensor will not start a fire (it is actually flame-retardant). There is no risk of a shortcut as the voltage at which the sensor operates is too low. The sensor does not attract lightning either.

WHY IS THE SENSOR NECESSARY?

Undesirable water leaks which remain unnoticed over longer periods can cause significant damage and at worst destroy the structural components of a building (insulation, supporting structures etc.).

HOW DOES THE SENSOR PREVENT DAMAGE IN A BUILDING?

In case of potential damage, the sensor triggers an early alert. This allows you to take immediate measures to prevent any major (consequential) damage in your building.

WHERE ARE THE DATA COLLECTED?

The data are collected in a secured data centre.

 

 

 

WHO IS GRANTED ACCESS TO THE DATA?

The real estate owner, the building contractor and the system operator/data protection officer.
